what is it with Jenny han and her tragic mom stories?
Brea K,
4。5 It was cute but it just seemed like the characters did not like each other at all
Regína (Icelandic。bookdragon),
A very cute and fast paced summer romance。
Kary,
2。5⭐️NO ONE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A LOVE TRIANGLE TROPE。 no。 nope。 I don’t like this type of trope。 I just think that playing with the feelings of someone is so shitty so yeah, it was cute sure but idk it felt too fast。 The book is so short and the flashbacks didn’t helped a lot。 anyway I’m team nobody tbh LMAO
mercy °˖ ✧,
3/5 really easy to read, which i appreciate bc i am spending most my time rn doing revision, but i just wasn't a massive fan。 belly got on my nerves a bit?? especially towards the end (no spoilers) some of her actions just feel a bit selfish, idk maybe i missed something。 wasn't a fan of the whole like "choosing between brothers" or whatever was going on, but i'm not the greatest romance fan ever, so if romance is completely your thing i'm sure you will enjoy it still!!!! 。。。more

they did not disrespect jane austen like that -_-
Michelle,
i read this bc of taylor swift's new song。 i think it is a nice beach read for a middle schooler but i also eat that stuff up so idc。 however, i didnt like the main character (she was lowkey annoying n immature) and literally i liked CAM as the love interest who was not supposed to be the one to root for which rlly tells you what i thought about the other ones。 to be completely honest the only possible relationship belly will have is with her tantrums bc girlllll。。。 it was just the most average i read this bc of taylor swift's new song。 i think it is a nice beach read for a middle schooler but i also eat that stuff up so idc。 however, i didnt like the main character (she was lowkey annoying n immature) and literally i liked CAM as the love interest who was not supposed to be the one to root for which rlly tells you what i thought about the other ones。 to be completely honest the only possible relationship belly will have is with her tantrums bc girlllll。。。 it was just the most average teen beach read romance ever but it wasnt like HORRIBLE and AWFUL i suppose, also im a sucker for cheesy books and this defo falls in that category 。。。more
Amanda Carmel,
such a cute and quick read! onto the rest of the trilogy。
Valentina,

3。5Mucho drama casi lloro。
Jada Holliday,
Just eh。 I don’t understand all the hype。 I just felt like home girl was sort of a brat a 🤷🏽♀️ - also I didn’t enjoy any of the story lines and I didn’t appreciate that Belly couldn’t see how loved she was by her mom / DID NOT CHOOSE JERE。 So in the end I was dissatisfied lol。 For better lack of words - underwhelmed 😂But will I be watching the tv series…。。 yes 😂😂
ελπίδα,
Maddy,
Really did not enjoy this book。 Main character seemed like a "pick me" kind of girl。 The story also seemed pointless。 There was no real good ending that makes you want to read the following books in the series。 Really did not enjoy this book。 Main character seemed like a "pick me" kind of girl。 The story also seemed pointless。 There was no real good ending that makes you want to read the following books in the series。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 for starters, i only picked up this book because i saw taylor swift's Instagram page today。 this love taylor's version debuted with this movie trailer? ofc as a swiftie i'd die for taylor swift's music in a movie so i thought why not read lolto be blunt, this was in fact a very cliched book。 the love triangle trope definitely was not it for me, and there were certainly parts of the book which i didn't particularly like- for instance the character of taylor。 to me she was just redundant, and don' for starters, i only picked up this book because i saw taylor swift's Instagram page today。 this love taylor's version debuted with this movie trailer? ofc as a swiftie i'd die for taylor swift's music in a movie so i thought why not read lolto be blunt, this was in fact a very cliched book。 the love triangle trope definitely was not it for me, and there were certainly parts of the book which i didn't particularly like- for instance the character of taylor。 to me she was just redundant, and don't even get me started on her relationship with steven。 the fact that belly basically slut shamed her after she found out? not。 cool! this is not looking like a 5 star review i know。and i should probably be talking how good the actual book itself was。 so if you're reading this you might want to stop right at this moment unless you are madly addicted to taylor swift music------------------------------------------------------------------- "Because as soon as we were in the car, driving away, all I wanted to do was jump out and run back to the house。" the lyric from getaway car: "You were drivin' the getaway carWe were flyin', but we'd never get far"cam was a genuine good guy。 he told belly she was beautiful before everyone started going like "oh you're so pretty now", and i literally thought he was the only guy who genuinely loved her for her。 but obviously as this predictable love story goes, her love for conrad wasn't going to go anywhere。 so basically cam and belly was never gonna happen。 which leads to this other lyric in getaway car: "We never had a shotgun shot in the dark"the saying "shot in the dark", basically means that there was no hope for their relationship from the start。 in this scenario, it was because belly couldn't possibly let go of conrad to pursue anything more than a fling with cam。----------------------------------------------------------------------"There was a piece of paper inside, a note。 A message in a bottle。 The ink was a little smeared, but I could still read what it said。 It said, “IOU one skinny-dip。”a message in a bottle? anyone? for this song i don't really have any direct connections to cam and belly,, i just had to note that a bit random lol。 sorry not sorry -----------------------------------------------------------------------and of course, this love。 "Tossing, turningStruggled through the night with someone new"in this song i refer to "someone new" as cam in the story。 like i mentioned he is just such a good influence in general compared to conrad- he openly reciprocates his affection for her, and was just so sweet and caring omg but no。 of course belly decided that conrad was the one for her。 and while there were small bits of evidence that he cared and noticed her, (like when he noticed belly hadn't flipped a page of emma by jane austen) he really only dropped tiny hints and gave belly no clarity as to whether he loved her or not。 this is why she struggled so much to pinpoint whether conrad had actual feelings for her or just saw her as a little sisteri'm honestly done talking about this - because as shallow and predictable the plot was, it was still absoluting heart wrenching! i could not put this book down for reasons i cannot explain。 i don't know if the connections to taylor swift songs were deliberate in this book or not。 and i don't care。。。。! because nevertheless i still thought this was freaking magicaland you can't tell me that these songs don't define the relationships in here。 period 。。。more
Aalia,
this book was so cutesy and just what I needed to start summer。 Its just so summer lovey and feel good。 However, this whole love triangle situation is going to take a toll on me。 I really wish I could be fully team Jeremiah, but there’s something abt Conrad。 I’m honestly 50/50。 This book also moved insanely fast but I forgot that this is meant for much younger people…like what am I doing at a ripe 19 years old reading the summer I turned pretty…。pfff! anyways it’s a Jenny Han SLAYYY
Baxaji,
It was a couldn't put it down once i pick it kind of book。I don't enjoy how insecure Isabelle is about her self, but it adds to her personality。Conrad is a dick。My favourite line- Moments, when lost, can't be found again。 It was a couldn't put it down once i pick it kind of book。I don't enjoy how insecure Isabelle is about her self, but it adds to her personality。Conrad is a dick。My favourite line- Moments, when lost, can't be found again。 。。。more

denitha,
would be a perfect summer read except its not summer yet but id still enjoyed this book the same and i mightve developed a huUuge crash on conrad more than i let myself on。 now onto the second book!
Ximena,
